Back after a long time. Watched this Movie in Giant Screen !

Lot of hype for this Danush's movie. But did the movie withstand the hype?

Million dollar question.

மயக்கம் என்ன பாடல்கள் ஹிட் ஆனது இந்த படத்தின் எதிர்பார்ப்பை மேலும் அதிகரித்து விட்டது.

ஒரு புகைப்படக்காரரின் கனவை நிஜமாக்கிற கதை. தனுஷிற்கு அழகாக பொருந்துகிறது.

"ஓட ஓட" பாடலும், காதல் என் காதல், இந்த இரண்டு சூப்பர் ஹிட் பாடல்கள் படத்தின் முதல் பாதியை தாங்கி பிடிக்கிறது.

இரண்டாவது பாதி நாம எப்போ தியேட்டரை விட்டு "ஓட"ப் போகிறோம் என்ற அளவிற்கு உள்ளது.

செல்வராகவனிடம் இனி "சரக்கு" இல்லை என்று யாரும் சொல்ல முடியாது.

படத்தில் ஆளாளுக்கு "சரக்கு" அடிக்கிறார்கள்.

"முண்ட களப்ப" என்று தூய தமிழில் திட்டிக்கொள்கிறார்கள்.

கதாநாயகி சொல்லவே தேவை இல்லை. காதலிக்க ஒருத்தரும், கட்டிபிடிப்பது இன்னொருத்தரும் என்று நல்ல கொள்கை உடைய நாயகி. பார்க்க மொழுக் மொழுகேன்று இருக்கிறார். கடைசி காட்சியில் மின்னுகிறார்.

GV பிரகாஷிடம் உள்ள எல்லா வயலின்களையும் யாரவது ஒளித்து வைத்தால் நன்றாக இருக்கும். தெய்வ திருமகள் ரீ-ரெகார்டிங் கேட்ட மாதிரியே ஒரு உணர்வு.

Maayam SeithaayO Lyrics - Velayudham

The much awaited Vijay's Velayudham audio released recently. After repeated hearings, I felt the song "maayam seithaayo" stands out in this album. Song beautifully tuned by Vijay Antony and well sung by his singer "Sangeetha Rajeshwaran". Though the song looks simple, its difficult to sing in the range sung by Sangeetha, especially the high notes. She is simply rocking. Download this song in FLAC format and enjoy to the max buddies.

This song is Vijay Antony's best number I should say. There is already a talk about Music Director Vijay Antony that all his hit tunes have gone out of stock. Some of the recent songs he has composed are pretty average numbers. Its high time Vijay Antony stops acting in movies and sincerely concentrate on his music which is his forte. Is Vijay Antony listening ?

When the whole world has reviewed this movie, I am the latest bandwagon to join them.

Story

Everyone knows, that the story chisel the bond between a kid and a dad. What happens to them when people around them separate it is the crux of the story.

Vikram

Vikaram is our Super Duper Hero of this movie. His only vision is to perform. That too perform so well that no one should compete for Best Actor National Award. I have only few words to say about this guy. Vikram, we all love you. The first time I watched, I could not gel that much with your character. When I watched for the second time & third time, I was able to enjoy, each and every nuances of your acting. Hats off buddy. National Award is waiting for you.

Sara

Sara is a beautiful Little Angel. She will go into places very soon. She is Gods Gift to us. She has shaken, broken so many rough & soft hearts of most of us with her wonderful expression & acting. I saw her interview with Vikram the other day at Vijay TV. My God! She look so pretty, naughty & beauty.

Anushka

Anushka carries the second half of the film in her shoulder. After a long time, a heroine has been extracted fully to perform well and Anushka does that with ease. Her subtle acting adds immense value to the film. She looks so beautiful in “vizhigalil oru vaanavil” song. One of my favourite song these days which I had heard umpteen times. Song beautifully tuned and well sung by Sainthavi.

Santhanam

Even a comedian like santhanam has been given a scope to perform. Instead of a separate comedy track, his character and his comic timing sense gels well with the movie and he is another support pillar to lift the movie to greater heights.

Amala Paul

She is Looking Gorgeous after Myna. Another support pillar for this movie.

GV

Without him, I doubt whether this movie would have peaked a new scale. Excellent & Superb back ground score. Each and every back ground tune / track is still fresh in memory. Maestro ILaiyraja created that impact and magic in Mouna Raagam. After Maestro, I could see only GV.Prakash has done that magic again.

Though I like all the songs, “Vizhigalil oru vaanavil” stands out. I have heard and watched this particular song so many times. These type of melody number will long last for ever. Every time I hear sainthavi singing this song, my eyes is full of tears with joy.

GV, great show man. Lot of accolades waiting for you.

Director Vijay

I should appreciate Director Vijay first for getting the inspiration from foreign film and worked hard to etch each and every character in this movie so beautifully. Getting inspiration everyone does, putting that inspiration on paper & screen no one does and I should say Vijay has mastered that art so well. Now he has joined the big league of directors. Hope he chooses the right script for his next movie and does not fall in prey to commercial movies. I don’t get surprised if Vijay gets Best Director National Award.

Subtitles

My sweet enemy Rekhs has subtitled this film. Good job Buddy. All your English directed towards me which was “penniless” at that time is finally “paying” well in movies :-) now ! Definitely better than Enthiran :-)

Aaranya Kaandam - Tamil Movie Review

I wanted to watch an off-beat movie and finally chose to watch this “Aaranya Kandam” in one of the popular lengthy multiplex. The initial ten minutes made me to feel well I had taken a bad decision. Well, after the 11th minute, the film takes off to a higher level and there is no question of descending after that.

This is one day story based on criminal gangs that operate in North Chennai. Unless you think so worse, you cannot bring out such good characters in this movie. For a change, each of the rowdies in this film act so effectively and make this movie worth a watch. I would say, we have a Ram Gopal Varma in Tamil Cinema and that is Kumara Raja, the Director of this movie.

The movie is full of violence, yes. But the reasons are justifiable. Most of the characters speak bad words, yes. But rowdies don’t speak grammatical tamil.

After a long time, we can see a different kind of villain in Jackie Shroff. Hats off Jackie for wonderfully portraying different kind of villainism in this movie. I liked the way you show your teeth. Loitering half naked is definitely a half baked scene which is unwarranted in this movie. Jackie showcases all his talents and body with his natural ease. Jackie should seriously think of shifting to Kollywood.

Photography by Vinod needs a special mention to picture worst areas in North Chennai so beautifully.

Yuvan Shankar Raja background score is simply superb & world class. I guess this is the first ever film that yuvan has not scored any songs.

For Sampath who plays as pasupathy in this movie, it’s a welcome break for him to perform.

One character needs special mention. I don’t know his name. This character knows everything on how to put an aunty’s jacket into his pocket. Aunties beware :-) of this guy.

Ravi Krishna as Sappai excels in his short & shot role. Yasmin Ponnappa the heroine, uses this Sappai nicely and throws him like kuppai.

But the pick of the lot are Guru Somasundaram and Master Vasanth, and the scenes in which they appear are remarkable for their crackling dialogues and witty humour. Especially Master Vasanth plays remarkably well especially in a scene where Sampath asks him do you like your father so much. He says no but still he is my father. The expression he gives at this place is awesome. Acting of Guru Somasundaram and his dialogue delivery is top notch to watch.

'Aaranya Kaandam' announces the entry of a major talent in Kollywood and definitely it marks the beginning of a new era in Tamil cinema. Hats off to Kumara Raja for making this critically acclaimed film.

Unfortunately these films don’t run. Masses don’t like these Classes. This cinema is specially made for choosy and classy audiences.

It’s a good film or bad (blood) film. No patti-mandrams. This movie is definitely worth a watch. Don’t miss it. Don’t expect anything from this movie. In turn, you will richly enjoy the performances of all the characters.

Uyarthiru 420 - Audio Review

Lyrix Writer Snehan features in this Uyarthiru 420. If you look at the still, he is hero or villain one has to doubt :-) Audio was released recently. Manisharma has scored the Music. Mr Premnath is the Director of this movie. Here goes the audio review:

Good melodious number from Mani Sharma. Well sung by swetha mohan & Karthik. Voice of Swetha Mohan stands out.

The immediate feel you will get after hearing this song is, in which movie manisharma has scored similar kind of song. A cocktail from all the earlier hit songs of manisharma. Of course this song is interesting & a fast upbeat number. As usual Ranjith rocks. Vaali’s commercial lyrix stands out again. Sample piece:

SINGER: MUKESH

Reminds Deva’s earlier Gaana songs. Mukesh voice suits well for this mass kuththu song.

Female version is definitely better than duet version.

Avan Ivan - Movie Review

Generally I dont watch Bala's movie on the very first week. This time I took special effort to watch this movie on the second day of its release. At the end of the movie, I was somehow okay with the movie. But the reaction of the co-movie watchers was pathetic. I have given the pulse of the movie at the beginning itself. Now let me move on to Vivek'z paarvai on Avan-Ivan.

Everybody's comments after the movie was, there was no story at all. Generally I dont write story in my blog. For a change, let me write the story :-) since people say no story at all in this movie.

Walter Vannangamudi (Vishal) and is the step brother of Kumbidaren Saamy (Arya). Walter aspires to become an actor while his brother Samy wants to turn as a petty thief. Both Walter and Saamy work for Jameen (G M Kumar), who is a rich and influential landlord in the village. He sacrifices all his wealth for the villagers and commands respect in return. One day Jameen gets snubbed by a forest ranger and he decides to take revenge. As Walter and Saamy are very close to him he takes their help. In order to take revenge on the forest ranger the brothers block the way of and attack them. In the meantime Police rush to the spot but both escape.

Kumbidaren falls in love with Themozhi (Madhu Shalini) while his brother Walter loves Constable Beauty (Janani).Jameen comes across a man (RK) a cattle smuggler who smuggles cows and sells them to buyers in Kerala. Jameen informs this to Blue Cross and police gets RK arrested.

But RK comes back and take revenge on Jameen. How he takes revenge on Jammen? Will Vishal and Arya able to save the Jammen? Watch out for some stellar performances of the trio in the big screen.

Now to performances,

Vishal, the hero of masses has given an outstanding performance with squinted eyes. This film will surely be a land mark film in Vishal’s career.Arya has done his best with his dialogues and the humor part done by him adds flavour to the movie. There is a tough competition between him and Vishal to perform.

Madhu Shalini and Janani Iyer adds beauty to the film.

R.K. as baddie terrorises well.

Well, the unsung hero is G.M.Kumar. This old guy is definitely going to bag some awards for his "skin"ny role by-passing Vishal & Arya.

Actor suriya plays a cameo as Actor Suriya.

Background score & few songs of Yuvan are rocking.

Camera & Editing are some of the highlights of this movie.

Director Bala should understand that he can give only one Pithamagan. He should not try to do sequel to Pitha Magan. Director Bala, please put an end to pithamagan hang over.

I dont know how many of you heard this album. I always cherish listening to new new music Directors. A.J.Daniel the music director for this album rocks in his very first album itself. I am sure he is here for to stay. A.J.Daniel, wherever you are, here is the verdict : Superhit Album.

A scintilating melody beautifully sung by Harish Ragavendra. The violin interludes in between the song is amazing. After a long time it is so wonderful to listen to such beautiful violin interludes. Harish Ragavendra at his best. I cant imagine any other singer who could do justice for this song except Harish. Choice of singer is beautiful A.J.Daniel. Oru paarvaiyilae ennai veezhthi vittaai adiyae this is what the song is. But oru mettuleye ennai mayakki vittaai A.J.Danielaeeee....

2. Oorakaali Oorakaali

Sung by Nakka Mukka Chinna Ponnu, Gaana Ulaganathan, Baby: PVP Senthamarai.

Wow. Another nakka mukka is in the offing. Lovely gaana beats. Choice of right singers again. Next year suprapaatham is definitely going to be this song. Chinna ponnu has sung this song very well. Only she can sing is that kind of high pitch. These type of songs are cake walk for Gaana Ulaganathan. Oorakaali, oorakali beats still rings in your ears even after you shut down your music system. Hei just get up and dance to this tune.

3. Muthangal

Sung by Bombay Jayshree, Unnimenon, Jayageetha

Lyrics by P.V.Prasath

Everybody knows that Bombay Jayshree accepts any film song only when she likes the track song. This is her type of song. As usual she has sung this song so beautifully. Now this song is my last tune I hear before I retire to bed. It is so pleasing and soothing to listen. A.J.Daniel - lovely mettu and this song touch my heartu. This is the best song in this album. Not to forget Unnimenons voice at the end portion. Again choice of singers is too good. Unnimenon's clear tamil diction enriches this song. Especially Yaaradi pennae in Unni menons voice is too good to listen. Just tune it and enjoy it.

4. Eppadi manasukkul vanthaai

Sung by: Naresh Iyer, Chinmayi

Lyrics by: P.V.Prasath

Another beautiful Title song well tuned by A.J.Daniel. Full of western / drum beats. Naresh Iyer & Chinmayi rock in this song. In between chorus portion and that "Oh" sound is good to hear. I feel this song is going to top the charts pushing even Bombay Jayshree's song. Chinmayis voice look different in this song. She is amazing in these type of songs. Again beautiful choice of singers A.J.Daniel. I keep amazing how you took these right choice of singers.

5. En kaathal nee thaanae

Sung by : Karthik

Lyrics by : P.V.Prasath

When every body sings so beautifully in this album, this time it is for Karthik to rock in this melody. Well tuned, good soft beats, soothing to ears. Again right choice of singer for this song too. That high pitch of Uyirae... karthik excels. Another potential superhit number which is gonna be played at all FM stations.

6. Nee vantha pinnalae

Sung by: Sadhana Sargam

Lyrics by P.V.Prasath

A classical based melody song beautifully sung by Sadhana Sargam. Typical sadhana sargam songs. The voice is crystal clear. Again the choice of the singer for this song. I am repeating this sentence again and again. It is not only the tune that is going to matter the most. The choice of singer and their rendition is important factor for a hit number. Very few music directors choose the right singer and A.J.Daniel is definitely one.

After writing some beautiful lines for this album, P.V.Prasath has tried his hand for singing. Looks like a situational folk number. I guess this would be worth watching visually.

A western beat number sung by Benny Dayal. Whatever song Benny sings is a definite potential hit number. On the first hearing you may have the feeling that you may not like it. On repeated hearings, this is another hummable number.

Short female version of Oru paarvaiyalae. Short & Sweet.

10. En kaathal nee thaanae (Instrumental)

I felt instead of giving the instrumental version they should have given karaoke track for this Karthik song.

Overall a wonderful album. One cannot expect all the songs to be hit numbers of a new Music Director. A.J.Daniel is definitely here to stay for long. I just simply love all the songs. A.J.Daniel you just rock man.

Recommendation - Just go grab this CD.
