Eppadi ManasukkuL vanthaai - Music Review

I dont know how many of you heard this album. I always cherish listening to new new music Directors. A.J.Daniel the music director for this album rocks in his very first album itself. I am sure he is here for to stay. A.J.Daniel, wherever you are, here is the verdict : Superhit Album.

1. Oru paarvaiyalae

Sung by Harish Ragavendra
Lyrics by P.V.Prasath

A scintilating melody beautifully sung by Harish Ragavendra. The violin interludes in between the song is amazing. After a long time it is so wonderful to listen to such beautiful violin interludes. Harish Ragavendra at his best. I cant imagine any other singer who could do justice for this song except Harish. Choice of singer is beautiful A.J.Daniel. Oru paarvaiyilae ennai veezhthi vittaai adiyae this is what the song is. But oru mettuleye ennai mayakki vittaai A.J.Danielaeeee....

2. Oorakaali Oorakaali

Sung by Nakka Mukka Chinna Ponnu, Gaana Ulaganathan, Baby: PVP Senthamarai.
Lyrics by P.V.Prasath

Wow. Another nakka mukka is in the offing. Lovely gaana beats. Choice of right singers again. Next year suprapaatham is definitely going to be this song. Chinna ponnu has sung this song very well. Only she can sing is that kind of high pitch. These type of songs are cake walk for Gaana Ulaganathan. Oorakaali, oorakali beats still rings in your ears even after you shut down your music system. Hei just get up and dance to this tune.

3. Muthangal

Sung by Bombay Jayshree, Unnimenon, Jayageetha
Lyrics by P.V.Prasath

Everybody knows that Bombay Jayshree accepts any film song only when she likes the track song. This is her type of song. As usual she has sung this song so beautifully. Now this song is my last tune I hear before I retire to bed. It is so pleasing and soothing to listen. A.J.Daniel - lovely mettu and this song touch my heartu. This is the best song in this album. Not to forget Unnimenons voice at the end portion. Again choice of singers is too good. Unnimenon's clear tamil diction enriches this song. Especially Yaaradi pennae in Unni menons voice is too good to listen. Just tune it and enjoy it.

4. Eppadi manasukkul vanthaai

Sung by: Naresh Iyer, Chinmayi
Lyrics by: P.V.Prasath

Another beautiful Title song well tuned by A.J.Daniel. Full of western / drum beats. Naresh Iyer & Chinmayi rock in this song. In between chorus portion and that "Oh" sound is good to hear. I feel this song is going to top the charts pushing even Bombay Jayshree's song. Chinmayis voice look different in this song. She is amazing in these type of songs. Again beautiful choice of singers A.J.Daniel. I keep amazing how you took these right choice of singers.

5. En kaathal nee thaanae

Sung by : Karthik
Lyrics by : P.V.Prasath

When every body sings so beautifully in this album, this time it is for Karthik to rock in this melody. Well tuned, good soft beats, soothing to ears. Again right choice of singer for this song too. That high pitch of Uyirae... karthik excels. Another potential superhit number which is gonna be played at all FM stations.

6. Nee vantha pinnalae

Sung by: Sadhana Sargam
Lyrics by P.V.Prasath

A classical based melody song beautifully sung by Sadhana Sargam. Typical sadhana sargam songs. The voice is crystal clear. Again the choice of the singer for this song. I am repeating this sentence again and again. It is not only the tune that is going to matter the most. The choice of singer and their rendition is important factor for a hit number. Very few music directors choose the right singer and A.J.Daniel is definitely one.

7. Kannak kuzhi azhagi

Sung by: P.V.Prasath
Lyrics by: P.V.Prasath

After writing some beautiful lines for this album, P.V.Prasath has tried his hand for singing. Looks like a situational folk number. I guess this would be worth watching visually.

8. En thottaththu Apple

Sung by: Benny Dayal, Priya Hemesh
Lyrics by: P.V.Prasath

A western beat number sung by Benny Dayal. Whatever song Benny sings is a definite potential hit number. On the first hearing you may have the feeling that you may not like it. On repeated hearings, this is another hummable number.

9. Malai pola

Sung by: Priya Hemesh
Lyrics by: P.V.Prasath

Short female version of Oru paarvaiyalae. Short & Sweet.

10. En kaathal nee thaanae (Instrumental)

I felt instead of giving the instrumental version they should have given karaoke track for this Karthik song.

VIVEK'Z PAARVAI

Overall a wonderful album. One cannot expect all the songs to be hit numbers of a new Music Director. A.J.Daniel is definitely here to stay for long. I just simply love all the songs. A.J.Daniel you just rock man.

Recommendation - Just go grab this CD.

My rating - 5 star out of 5 * * * * *

Ayyanar Movie Review

Watched this movie recently. Somehow I missed the first day first show chance. I went to watch this movie only for some lovely songs tuned for this film by Thaman.

Aadhi has got all the potential ingredients to become a mass star. Hope he selects the right project and releases them at the right time. He should not be in a hurry and should release only two films in a year.

A family melodrama with some confusing screenplay, twists and turns makes this film to watch once for sure. Aadhi has taken this script specifically to prove his mettle as Action hero. He lives up to the expectation. His pair is new face Meera Nandan. Sorry to write this. I did not like this heroine from the first scene. Who selected her is a mystery.

How many times to see this poor Pithamagan Mahadevan in villain role? At least he should show some different kind of mannerism to look different from his earlier films rather than projecting his stale face.

These days Santhanam comedies are after thoughts. Its time for Santhanam not to do single comedy tracks. Except for few scenes with hero and showing his dancing skills in Kuthu kuthu song, santhanam goes missing after that.

The only saving grace is Thaman's music. He is popularising "his" kind of music like Devi Sri Prasad. Paniye Paniye, Mayanguraendi Mayanguraendi, Pachai kiLi pola are three pleasing scintilating melodies to listen again and again. Another kuththu song, kuthu kuthu gummangkuthu is rocking kuththu from Thaman once again. Well choreographed and looks beautiful visually. In fact all the songs are well picturised by Sethu Sriram, the cameraman.

Director Rajamithran should have concentrated more on first half and fine tuned his script little bit. There are "n" number of illogical scenes. Some scenes lacks continuity. Second half is racy and pacy. Overall okay.

Watch only for Aadhi and especially second Paadhi :-) that is where the story begins.

VIVEKS PAARVAI:

AYANAAR - POIYANAAR

Ethirpaartha aLavirku illatha thaal... Poithu vittathu. Ennai Yaemaatri vittathu !!

My rating : * * (Two Stars)

One for Aadhi and One for Thaman.

Manmadhan Ambu - Audio Review

Hmmm... Kamal kamal thaan... Stillae kalakuthae. Kamal padaththoda music landing notes ah vida. Kamal bodyla vizhara landing notes irukkae... hmmm.... ok ok enough of my perumoochu. Let me review this music album.

Song 1: Thagadu thaththom

Sung by: Kamal
Lyrix by : Kamal

Opening tunae kalakkuthu. With kamal's voice, song automatica kaalla thaaLam poda vaikuthae intha thagudu thaththam. Kalakkal Kamal.

Song 2: Neela vaanam

Sung by: Kamal, Priya Hemesh
Lyrix by : Kamal

This song is beautifully sung by Kamal. He should seriously think of continously singing for other movies as well. Opening violin tune and kamals opening notes are too good and pleasant for the ears to listen. Humming by Priya Hemesh adds beauty to this song. A potential chart buster.

Song 3: Whos the Hero

Sung by: Andrea Jeremiah
Lyrix: Kamal

Wow. The best song by far Andrea has sung so far. I always felt that there will be a vaccum if Didi Usha Uthup quits singing. No, I am wrong. Andrea is there to fit in her shoes. Lyrix kamalaam paa. Englishlalaam vaera paatu ezhuthi kalakkuraaru ! Lovely score by Devi Sri Prasad. After listening to several times, I imagine how it would be if Usha Uthup has sung this song in stage. Ninaichi paakavae supera irukku. Usha Didi hope you are listening and eagerly awaiting your stage programme with this song. Andrea full credit to you. Superbly sung.

Song 4: Oyyale

Sung by: Mukesh, Suchithra, Karthik Kumar
Lyrix by : Viveka

Typical commercial hit song of Devi Sri Prasad. This type of song is cake walk for Mukesh and Suchithra. Good dancing beats. With kamal in the visual, this song is definitely going to rock.

Song 5: Manmadhan Ambu

Sung by: Devi Sri Prasad
Lyrix by: Kamal Haasan

Already this song is rocking every Tea kada, FM Radios, Ipod Touches, Mobile Phones and TV advertisements. Typical Devi Sri Prasad's tune. Beautifully tuned and superb beats. Especially the portion Man..madhan..ambu !! Hey Devi this is what we expect from you. It would have been interesting if you had made Kamal to sing this song. Song Rocks. I had heard maximum times at this time of writing this review.

Song 6: Kamal Kavithai

Sung by: Kamal Haasan & Trisha
Lyrix by : Kamal

Hey trisha paadi irukaanglaaam paa.. illai kavithai padichi irukaanga... illa illa
trishavum kamalum kavithai padaiththu irukkiraargaL.

Kaavalan Audio Review

After Sura, Kaavalan the bodyguard has arrived musically.

The film has 5 songs tuned by Vidyasagar.

1. Vinnai kaappan

Written by Pa.Vijay
Sung by Tippu & Swetha

A fast paced sweet melody from Vidyasagar. Looks like opening introduction song. Repeated hearings would definitely place this song in Chart Busters. Well sung by Tippu.

2. Yaaradhu Yaaradhu

Written by Yugabharathi
Sung by Karthik & Suchithra

Another beautifully melody beautifully sung by Karthik. Interludes between charanam & pallavi is too good to listen. Another song to stay in Chartbusters for long. Thats for sure. Karthik at his best. Just for saying hello they have included Suchithra. Poor girl :-)

3. Step Step

Written by Viveka
Sung by Benny Dayal & Megha

Song starting itself says "Step step". You can expect lot of dance "Steps" from Vijay & Asin in this song. Looks like Vidyasagar has started listening to lot of English songs :-) Beautiful Steps. Feel like dancing when you hear this tune. "Benny" as usual "Pinny" edukkiraar. Mega's voice aaagha ! I like this One two three four... The song is going to rock in this order at all FM radios. Well tuned Vidyasagar !

This song is my first choice to become a Superhit.

4. Sada Sada

Written by Yugabharathi
Sung by Karthik

Another fast paced melody sung by Karthik. Sada sada song is like pada padanu porikkum pappadam :) Hey come on guys, looks to me this song also has all the ingredients to become potential super hit :-) Hey karthik wonderful singing man !! I just love this song.
Whenever I hear this song, Adikadi thudikuthu en nenjam !

This song is my second choice to become a Superhit.

5. Pattam poochi

Written by Kabilan
Sung by Kay Kay & Rita

This song fills in the Kuththu paatu jonre. I should say a melody Kuththu Number from Vidyasagar. K.K. as usual at his best. I guess Rita is not the best choice for this song. A hummable song.

VIVEK'S PAARVAI

Vijay movies whether it is flop or superhits, all his music directors have ensured that his songs are best tuned & stays superhit musically.

Vidyasagar has done it again. This time for Vijay.

My rating : * * * * (Four Star)
