பிரபு சாலமனின் HATRIC  வெற்றி  இந்த கயல் !

பிரபு சாலமனிற்கு ஒரு புது ஹீரோ, ஹீரோயின், ஒரு அழகிய கேமராமென்,  இம்மானின் இசை, ஒரு வரி காதல் கதை போதும், ஒரு அழகிய கவிதையை படைபதற்கு . 

ஒரு நிமிடம் கூட தொய்வு ஏற்படாமல் காதல் கதையை  சொல்வதற்கு ஒரு துணிச்சல் வேண்டும், அது பிரபு சாலமனுக்கு இயல்பாக வருகிறது. 

படத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு CHARACTER ம்  மனதில் நிற்கிறது. 

ஹீரோ, ஹீரோயின், ஹீரோவின் நண்பன், அனைவரும் புதுமுகங்கள் என்று சொன்னால் ஒருவரும் நம்ப மாட்டார்கள். அவ்வளவு தத்ருபமாக படத்தோடு ஒன்றி நடித்து இருக்கிறார்கள். 

ஹீரோயின்  கயல் இன்னொரு அமலா பாலாக வருவதில் சந்தேகமில்லை. 

இசை ஹீரோ இம்மான் வேறு உலகத்திருக்கு சென்று கொண்டு இருக்கிறார். வாழ்த்துக்கள் . 

கேமரா மென்  இன்னொரு ஹீரோ.VISUALS கலக்குகிறது !! குறிப்பாக கயலின் கண்கள். 

இந்த படம் ஒரு EXPERIENCE.

Watched this movie today. 

ONE LINE STORY

எல்லோரும் சுவரை வைத்து சித்திரம் வரைவார்கள். 

இந்த படத்தின் கதையே சுவரை வைத்து சித்திரம் வரைந்து அதனால் ஏற்படும் சண்டைகளை சுவாரசியமாக சொல்ல முயற்சி செய்து முடிவில் சரியான முடிவில்லாமல் முடித்து வைத்து இருக்கிறார்கள்.

CRUX

The story revolves around a young IT guy living int he slums and talks about how poor are still looking for solutions to the issues plaguing them for long. They are engaged to do party works only to be forgotten afterwards. This is the crux of the story.

KARTHIK & CATHERENE TRESA

On Screen these two are looking gorgeous. Especially their love & intimate scenes. Kolly wood welcomes one more Trisha, Catherene Tresa !!  These two live in Housing Board Flats, but this heroine wears only rich costumes. I think they live in HIG Housing Board Flats. Karthik as usual at his best. Some of his one word dialogue expressions are superb.

KARTHIK & HIS FRIEND

Karthik & his friend, I guess his name is Kalai Arasan, has acted very well in this Film. The friendship bond between these two lead characters is well depicted. 

SANTHOSH NARAYANAN

Music Director Santosh Narayanan has composed music for this Film. Kaakidha Kappal sung by Gana Bala stands out differently among all. Especially the theatrical effect of this song is Amazing. 

DIRECTOR RANJITH

His previous venture Attakaththi was entertaining. He has very well done in this movie as well till the Climax. Our audience wants clear solution to the problem. Whether it is educated hero or slum hero, the villain has to be killed.

But the climax was not that much engaging. People did not clearly understand what the Director is trying to say at the End. The Hero wants to forgive the villain, wants to shun any more killings, he preaches social messages to school kids, but the main villain continues to promote hatred & violence through another rowdy. 

I think the Director got bit confused whether to Leave Karthik as Hero with loveable lover or as a Saviour of poor people. End Result he messed with the Climax. 

Minus climax this movie is interesting & engaging.

Saw this "Irumbu Kuthirai" second show of its release. Just for Adharva !!

அதர்வா உடன் ஆசையுடன் குதிரை சவாரி செய்யலாம் என்று பார்த்தால், ஒரு குதிரையையும் காணவில்லை. அதாவது கதையை காணவில்லை. ஒரு வேளை பார்த்திபன் படம் பார்க்க வந்து விட்டேனா என்று கூட எனக்கு சந்தேகம் வந்து விட்டது. பார்த்திபன் சார் நீங்க தயவு செய்து இன்னொரு முறை கதையே இல்லாமல் படம் இது என்று விளம்பரம் செய்யாதீர்கள். உங்களை பார்த்து பல பேர்  காப்பி அடித்து இரும்பு குதிரை மாதிரி படங்கள் வெளி வருகின்றன. 

படத்தின் கதை 

எனக்கு தெரியவில்லை. உங்களுக்கு தெரிந்தால் சொல்லுங்கள்.

அதர்வா 

இந்த படத்தில் வில்லனோடு சண்டை போட்டதை தவிர அவர் என்ன பண்ணுகிறார் என்று அவருக்கே தெரியவில்லை. அதர்வா இனி கதை தேர்வில் கவனம் செலுத்துவது நல்லது. இல்லை என்றால் விரைவில் காணமல் போய் விடுவார். 

பிரியா ஆனந்த் 

இந்த பெண்  எப்பொழுது பார்த்தாலும் சிக்கன உடை, பணக்கார தோரனை உடன் பல படத்தில் சுத்தி விட்டு போகும். இந்த படம் இந்த பெண்ணுக்கு அது மாதிரி  இன்னொரு படம். பாலா போன்ற இயக்குனர்கள் இந்த பெண்ணை தத்தெடுத்து பிதாமகன் போன்ற கதை அம்சம் உள்ள படத்தில் நடிக்க வைத்து, சேற்றில் புரட்டி எடுத்து, பிச்சகாரி வேஷத்தில் நடிக்க வைக்க வேண்டும் என்று என்னுடைய நீண்ட நாள் ஆசை. அப்பொழுது தான் இந்த பெண் திருந்தும். 

G,V,பிரகாஷ் 

இந்த படம் G .V .பிரகாஷ் MUSICAL ஆம். இது G .V .பிரகாஷ் YOSICAL (a ) படம். TUNE  போடவே யோசிக்கவில்லை அவர். மிக மிக மட்டமான பாடல்கள் கொண்ட படம் இது. யோசிக்காம tune போட்டதால இந்த படம் G .V .பிரகாஷ் YOSICAL  படம்.

இந்த BOSE மாதிரி டைரக்டர்கள், மேன் மேலும் வளர விடாமல் CLOSE செய்வது நல்லது.

எவ்வளவோ கஷ்டப்பட்டு படம் எடுககிறோம். BLOG என்ற பெயரில் மார்க் போடுவது, ஸ்டார் போடுவ்து, படம் குப்பை என்று விமர்சனம் செய்கிறார்கள் என்று புலம்பும் டைரக்டர்களே, எங்கள் பொன்னான நேரத்தை வீண் அடித்து, பல பேரை ஏமாற்றி, அதிகமான விலை கொடுத்து டிக்கெட் எடுத்து படத்தை பார்க்க வந்தால், இந்த மாதிரி மட்டமான ஒரு படத்தை கொடுத்து எங்களை சாகடிக்காதீர்கள். கதையை நம்பி மட்டும் படம் எடுங்கள். கல்பாத்தி அகோரம் theatre இல் கூட இந்த படம் ஒரு வாரம் தாங்காது. 

இந்த படத்தை நீங்கள் பார்பதற்கு பதில் "அஞ்சான்" படத்தை அஞ்சாறு முறை பாருங்கள். அஞ்சான் எவ்வளவோ மேல் என்பீர்கள். இந்த படத்தை நீங்கள் பார்பதற்கு "இரும்பு" இதயம் வேண்டும். இரும்பு குதிரை பதில் கடுப்பு கழுதை என்று தலைப்பு படத்திற்கு மிக பொருந்தும்.

CHENNAI EXPRESS MOVIE REVIEWAfter a long time, I am back here to review this super duper movie of Shah Rukh Khan. Happened to see the premier show much before the actual release on Friday at Chennai. I had a doubt whether this is tamil film or a hindi film.  I felt like watching a tamil movie as most of the dialogues are in Tamil and for a Shah Rukh film there is no need or necessity for knowing any language. One can easily understand the movie and its narration by just watching Shah Rukh Khan's facial expression. Crux of the FilmIt is a simple one line story and only Shah Rukh Khan can drag this for a full two and half hours entertaining movie. Shah Rukh grandma wanted to immerse the holy ashes of Shah Rukh's grandpa at Rameshwaram whereas Shah Rukh and his other friends have another plan to visit Goa.  To satisfy grandma and to make her belief that he is going to Rameshwaram he boards Chennai Express with a plan to get down in between and join his friends. Fate has other plans to unfold. Deepika Padukone enters the scene to catch the Chennai Express on running mode and our hero gives a helping hand to Board the train. He helps the three more villains to board the same train and later comes to understand that these three persons had actually kidnapped Deepika. How the story moves on from there and how our hero and heroine gets united is beautifully told.Shah Rukh KhanWhenever there is a Shah Rukh Khan its only a one man show. He has done his part very interestingly and showed almost all the jonres in this film. He acts well, dances well, emotes well, fights well and the highlight of this movie is his comedy and its timing. His screen presence with Deepika looks gorgeous & beautiful. Thanks to Camera man who had captured the Chennai Express with beautiful locales. DeepikaFor the first time, Deepika has acted so well and she looks gorgeous throughout the film. I think she has all the potential of a great actor and she should pick it up from here. Sathyaraj & His villain CoterieThere is heavy competition in this film as to who is going to look funny whether its Sathyaraj or Shah Rukh Khan. Its very funny to watch Shah Rukh Khan speaking Tamil and Sathyaraj speaking Hindi. Sathyaraj dons the role of Periya Thalai and he has nothing much to offer other than standing tall and giving a serious pose. His opposite villain Thangabali looks well built and fights well with Shah Rukh at the climax.
MusicVishal Shekhar duo has composed some scintilating numbers and dancing tunes for this movie. Titli song stands out among all. Lungi DanceLooks like Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has successfully managed to impress South Indian superstar Rajinikanth with his 'Thalaiva'  Lungi Dance tribute.Shah Rukh recently revealed during the "Chennai Express" promotion that Rajinikanth had called him personally appreciating the track made in his honour.Rajinikanth saw the video on You Tube and appreciated Shah Rukh saying its really nice, very good, very naughty and very sweet. Shah Rukh Khan was also very happy that Rajini and his entire family liked the song.Guyz dont miss this song at the end of the Movie.Overall this is a "feel good" movie and when I came out and watched the audience pulse everyone was happy and leaving the theatre smilingly. That tells the Success of this Movie.With no heavy competition around, this Chennai Express will run in Chennai for 100 days.There is only one Baadshah in Hindi - Thats Shah Rukh. Whenever he carries the tag "RAHUL" as his name in his movies, those movies are super duper hits and Chennai Express falls in that category.I am going to watch this move once again.VIVEKS PAARVAIChennai Express - Chennai Toronto

Leelai - Movie Review

I dont know what happened to me today. Suddenly I thought I should bunk office and watch this movie. Why I chose this movie ? God only knows !! This movie I guess supposed to have been released in 2009.  It is almost two and half years now and I am surprised the movie still jels with 2012 scenario. Why this movie was kept in CANS so long? a hundred billion dollar question which has to be answered only by that CAN-I (கேனை) 

If released on time this low budget movie would have minted money long back and some of our TV channels would have telecasted this "indhiya tholaikaatchiyil muthal muraiyaaga" movie by now.

A simple love story intelligently told by Director, Andrew Louis. Good imaginatory skills. With only 4 characters moving around and keeping the audience glued to their seat itself is an achievement.

Actor Shiv Pandit excels has hero. With his body language carries this movie on his shoulder. 

Actress Manshi Parekh looks very very pretty. According to me she is mixture juice of following actresses.

1. kajol's sister tanisha

2. half jothika

3. half kaarthika

those who dont get call sheet of kaarthika can approach Manshi Parekh.

she is like butterfly in this movie. Flying beautifully throughout. 

Though this movie is in "CAN" for three years, the photography of Velraj, pollathavan fame looks pretty, fresh,  good with beautiful locales. Oru kili oru kili song has been beautifully shot by Velraj.

Coming to music. Music is by satish chakravarthy, assistant of A.R.Rehman. He has worked for a Super King. No doubt Satish is a musical chakravarthy. 

Jillendru oru kalavaram song .... makes kalavaram in the minds and hearts of millions of people. I personally dont know how many times I would have heard this song. Oru kili oru kili... is another super duper hit.

Noteable aspect of this movie is Santhanams Comedy.  Whenever he appears the roof of the theatre comes down. 

Worth watching this summer. Film looks funny and Cool.

Good debut by Shiv Pandit, Manshi Parekh, Andrew Louis. Congratz for giving us the colorful movie.

THREE - MOVIE REVIEW

I dont know why they titled this movie as THREE.

May be three people have put their heart and sole into this movie.

1. Danush

2. Aishwarya Danush

3. Shruti

Aishwarya has taken bi-polar disorder as the main subject of this movie mixed with love story and presented it decently.

Danush is not a fluke artist. Every time he proves his mettle some way or other. Remember he has won Best Actor award. He has given another stellar performance in this movie which will be the talking point.

Aishwarya Danush debut as director should be appreciated for her social responsibility in bringing to light about this bipolar disorder which is alarming in recent days. Many domestic violence / killings are example to that.

Shruti is looking gorgeous and very steamy in love scenes. To an extent she remembers us that she is kamal's daughter in acting.

The burning point for every one will be ... this danush enjoys both rajini's daughter and kamal's daughter :-)

Anirudh's back ground score is amazing which carries the movie.

Photography is excellent. Kudos to cameraman in catching Shruti in close quarters.

The much hyped "why this kolaveri" song... plays a subtle role in this movie. Probably it looks like they have picturised this song well before this song has become superhit.

Prabhus cameo will be appreciated by all. Especially whenever danush wants to discuss about his "life" matter. We need more fathers like Prabhu.

With some more editing, this picture would have been picture perfect.

Its not an commercial movie... but deinitely the film has an artistic value.

Watch it once.

Lot of hype for this Danush's movie. But did the movie withstand the hype?

Million dollar question.

மயக்கம் என்ன பாடல்கள் ஹிட் ஆனது இந்த படத்தின் எதிர்பார்ப்பை மேலும் அதிகரித்து விட்டது.

ஒரு புகைப்படக்காரரின் கனவை நிஜமாக்கிற கதை. தனுஷிற்கு அழகாக பொருந்துகிறது.

"ஓட ஓட" பாடலும், காதல் என் காதல், இந்த இரண்டு சூப்பர் ஹிட் பாடல்கள் படத்தின் முதல் பாதியை தாங்கி பிடிக்கிறது.

இரண்டாவது பாதி நாம எப்போ தியேட்டரை விட்டு "ஓட"ப் போகிறோம் என்ற அளவிற்கு உள்ளது.

செல்வராகவனிடம் இனி "சரக்கு" இல்லை என்று யாரும் சொல்ல முடியாது.

படத்தில் ஆளாளுக்கு "சரக்கு" அடிக்கிறார்கள்.

"முண்ட களப்ப" என்று தூய தமிழில் திட்டிக்கொள்கிறார்கள்.

கதாநாயகி சொல்லவே தேவை இல்லை. காதலிக்க ஒருத்தரும், கட்டிபிடிப்பது இன்னொருத்தரும் என்று நல்ல கொள்கை உடைய நாயகி. பார்க்க மொழுக் மொழுகேன்று இருக்கிறார். கடைசி காட்சியில் மின்னுகிறார்.

GV பிரகாஷிடம் உள்ள எல்லா வயலின்களையும் யாரவது ஒளித்து வைத்தால் நன்றாக இருக்கும். தெய்வ திருமகள் ரீ-ரெகார்டிங் கேட்ட மாதிரியே ஒரு உணர்வு.

Selvaragavanin காதல் கொண்டேன் படத்தில் உள்ள விறுவிறுப்பு அடுத்த அவர் டைரக்ட் செய்த எந்த படத்திலும் இல்லை.

செல்வராகவனுக்கு இனி தேவை விறுவிறுப்பும் சுறுசுறுப்பும்.

இந்த படம் கண்டிப்பாக தனுஷ் ரசிகர்களுக்கு மட்டும்.

Maayam SeithaayO Lyrics - Velayudham

The much awaited Vijay's Velayudham audio released recently. After repeated hearings, I felt the song "maayam seithaayo" stands out in this album. Song beautifully tuned by Vijay Antony and well sung by his singer "Sangeetha Rajeshwaran". Though the song looks simple, its difficult to sing in the range sung by Sangeetha, especially the high notes. She is simply rocking. Download this song in FLAC format and enjoy to the max buddies.

This song is Vijay Antony's best number I should say. There is already a talk about Music Director Vijay Antony that all his hit tunes have gone out of stock. Some of the recent songs he has composed are pretty average numbers. Its high time Vijay Antony stops acting in movies and sincerely concentrate on his music which is his forte. Is Vijay Antony listening ?

Story

Everyone knows, that the story chisel the bond between a kid and a dad. What happens to them when people around them separate it is the crux of the story.

Vikram

Vikaram is our Super Duper Hero of this movie. His only vision is to perform. That too perform so well that no one should compete for Best Actor National Award. I have only few words to say about this guy. Vikram, we all love you. The first time I watched, I could not gel that much with your character. When I watched for the second time & third time, I was able to enjoy, each and every nuances of your acting. Hats off buddy. National Award is waiting for you.

Sara

Sara is a beautiful Little Angel. She will go into places very soon. She is Gods Gift to us. She has shaken, broken so many rough & soft hearts of most of us with her wonderful expression & acting. I saw her interview with Vikram the other day at Vijay TV. My God! She look so pretty, naughty & beauty.

Anushka

Anushka carries the second half of the film in her shoulder. After a long time, a heroine has been extracted fully to perform well and Anushka does that with ease. Her subtle acting adds immense value to the film. She looks so beautiful in “vizhigalil oru vaanavil” song. One of my favourite song these days which I had heard umpteen times. Song beautifully tuned and well sung by Sainthavi.

Santhanam

Even a comedian like santhanam has been given a scope to perform. Instead of a separate comedy track, his character and his comic timing sense gels well with the movie and he is another support pillar to lift the movie to greater heights.

Amala Paul

She is Looking Gorgeous after Myna. Another support pillar for this movie.

GV

Without him, I doubt whether this movie would have peaked a new scale. Excellent & Superb back ground score. Each and every back ground tune / track is still fresh in memory. Maestro ILaiyraja created that impact and magic in Mouna Raagam. After Maestro, I could see only GV.Prakash has done that magic again.

Though I like all the songs, “Vizhigalil oru vaanavil” stands out. I have heard and watched this particular song so many times. These type of melody number will long last for ever. Every time I hear sainthavi singing this song, my eyes is full of tears with joy.

GV, great show man. Lot of accolades waiting for you.

Director Vijay

I should appreciate Director Vijay first for getting the inspiration from foreign film and worked hard to etch each and every character in this movie so beautifully. Getting inspiration everyone does, putting that inspiration on paper & screen no one does and I should say Vijay has mastered that art so well. Now he has joined the big league of directors. Hope he chooses the right script for his next movie and does not fall in prey to commercial movies. I don’t get surprised if Vijay gets Best Director National Award.

Subtitles

My sweet enemy Rekhs has subtitled this film. Good job Buddy. All your English directed towards me which was “penniless” at that time is finally “paying” well in movies :-) now ! Definitely better than Enthiran :-)

Aaranya Kaandam - Tamil Movie Review

I wanted to watch an off-beat movie and finally chose to watch this “Aaranya Kandam” in one of the popular lengthy multiplex. The initial ten minutes made me to feel well I had taken a bad decision. Well, after the 11th minute, the film takes off to a higher level and there is no question of descending after that.

This is one day story based on criminal gangs that operate in North Chennai. Unless you think so worse, you cannot bring out such good characters in this movie. For a change, each of the rowdies in this film act so effectively and make this movie worth a watch. I would say, we have a Ram Gopal Varma in Tamil Cinema and that is Kumara Raja, the Director of this movie.

The movie is full of violence, yes. But the reasons are justifiable. Most of the characters speak bad words, yes. But rowdies don’t speak grammatical tamil.

After a long time, we can see a different kind of villain in Jackie Shroff. Hats off Jackie for wonderfully portraying different kind of villainism in this movie. I liked the way you show your teeth. Loitering half naked is definitely a half baked scene which is unwarranted in this movie. Jackie showcases all his talents and body with his natural ease. Jackie should seriously think of shifting to Kollywood.

Photography by Vinod needs a special mention to picture worst areas in North Chennai so beautifully.

Yuvan Shankar Raja background score is simply superb & world class. I guess this is the first ever film that yuvan has not scored any songs.

For Sampath who plays as pasupathy in this movie, it’s a welcome break for him to perform.

One character needs special mention. I don’t know his name. This character knows everything on how to put an aunty’s jacket into his pocket. Aunties beware :-) of this guy.

Ravi Krishna as Sappai excels in his short & shot role. Yasmin Ponnappa the heroine, uses this Sappai nicely and throws him like kuppai.

But the pick of the lot are Guru Somasundaram and Master Vasanth, and the scenes in which they appear are remarkable for their crackling dialogues and witty humour. Especially Master Vasanth plays remarkably well especially in a scene where Sampath asks him do you like your father so much. He says no but still he is my father. The expression he gives at this place is awesome. Acting of Guru Somasundaram and his dialogue delivery is top notch to watch.

'Aaranya Kaandam' announces the entry of a major talent in Kollywood and definitely it marks the beginning of a new era in Tamil cinema. Hats off to Kumara Raja for making this critically acclaimed film.

Unfortunately these films don’t run. Masses don’t like these Classes. This cinema is specially made for choosy and classy audiences.

It’s a good film or bad (blood) film. No patti-mandrams. This movie is definitely worth a watch. Don’t miss it. Don’t expect anything from this movie. In turn, you will richly enjoy the performances of all the characters.
