Singam Movie Review

Saw this surya starrer movie yesterday. Surya is another silent star who has biggest opening these days. This movie was full for first five days in all the theatres since its release.

A simple cop story well coined by Director Hari with all the masala ingredients required for a commercial movie. Surya, the cop leads a simple life in his village as Sub Inspector doing his own kattipidi kattapanchayat vaithiyams. Vivek as his subordinate tickles the ribs every now and then with his own gimmick style. Especially the song "erimalai eppadi porukkum" from the movie "sivappu malli" as his background score is good. The villain, Prakash Raj does all his villainism in chennai and on one occassion he has to sign an conditional bail at the village where surya is the sub-inspector. How the rivalry develops between these two forms the crux of this "Singam" story.

Anushka as usual sizzles with her meaty role. She looks stunning in "kaathal vanthale" song.

Surya as usual impresses with his neat performance both in acting & style. He looks too good in "kaathal vanthalae" song & "she stole my heart". Some of the places where he delivers punch dialogues, surya should have avoided screaming with his full throat. Our ears goes for a six with his unnecessary screams.

Devi Sri prasad once again tuned some good dancing numbers. "kaathal vanthale", she stole my heart & en idhayam are good to hear on repeated hearings. Surya & anushka rock in kathal vanthale song. My favourite song is "en idhayam" well sung by suchithra.

For the villain prakash raj, these kinds of roles are cake-walk. Some how I feel he should stop taking these kind of roles which looks repetitive these days.

Director Hari has tried one more "saamy" and proves 50% successful.

Overall, the film is not boring even a second. Full and full paisa vasool commercial entertainer. Watch once for Surya.

My Punch Line : Singam - Go Watch & Come !

My rating : * * *
