Watched this movie recently. Somehow I missed the first day first show chance. I went to watch this movie only for some lovely songs tuned for this film by Thaman.
Aadhi has got all the potential ingredients to become a mass star. Hope he selects the right project and releases them at the right time. He should not be in a hurry and should release only two films in a year.
A family melodrama with some confusing screenplay, twists and turns makes this film to watch once for sure. Aadhi has taken this script specifically to prove his mettle as Action hero. He lives up to the expectation. His pair is new face Meera Nandan. Sorry to write this. I did not like this heroine from the first scene. Who selected her is a mystery.
How many times to see this poor Pithamagan Mahadevan in villain role? At least he should show some different kind of mannerism to look different from his earlier films rather than projecting his stale face.
These days Santhanam comedies are after thoughts. Its time for Santhanam not to do single comedy tracks. Except for few scenes with hero and showing his dancing skills in Kuthu kuthu song, santhanam goes missing after that.
The only saving grace is Thaman's music. He is popularising "his" kind of music like Devi Sri Prasad. Paniye Paniye, Mayanguraendi Mayanguraendi, Pachai kiLi pola are three pleasing scintilating melodies to listen again and again. Another kuththu song, kuthu kuthu gummangkuthu is rocking kuththu from Thaman once again. Well choreographed and looks beautiful visually. In fact all the songs are well picturised by Sethu Sriram, the cameraman.
Director Rajamithran should have concentrated more on first half and fine tuned his script little bit. There are "n" number of illogical scenes. Some scenes lacks continuity. Second half is racy and pacy. Overall okay.
Watch only for Aadhi and especially second Paadhi :-) that is where the story begins.
VIVEKS PAARVAI:
AYANAAR - POIYANAAR
Ethirpaartha aLavirku illatha thaal... Poithu vittathu. Ennai Yaemaatri vittathu !!
My rating : * * (Two Stars)
One for Aadhi and One for Thaman.
