A. R. Rahman, the ace music director and I Media Corp Ltd (IMCL) have joined hands to bring out an anthem to kick off the India Unites for Taj Movement. The movement aims at securing maximum number of votes for Taj Mahal, Agra, so that it could be declared one among the Seven Wonders of the World.
With the Pyramids of Giza, the oldest surviving wonder, already placed in the list, voting is on full swing for the other six places. Taj Mahal is in the fray with 21 other finalists. The music director, who was in London when the offer was made, is said to have grabbed the offer to compose the song like a piece of hot cake.
Despite his busy schedule, Rahman did not want to miss the opportunity as he felt that it was his bounden duty to motivate all Indians to vote for Taj. Wah Taj ! We will have one more master piece from the maestro. He has specially composed and sung a song ''One Love'' to kickstart the multi-media campaign for Taj Mahal.
The new Seven Wonders, to be selected on the basis of a worldwide voting via celluler and fixed line phones, was launched by the New 7 Wonders Society, a Switzerland-based group. ''I told myself, 'what an honour it is to do it,'' said Rehman about his composition.
The Taj Mahal is one of the 21 shortlisted wonders, which includes other iconic landmarks like the Sydney Opera House and the Statue of Liberty. ''Any Indian who has pride, and has been in love should vote for Taj Mahal,'' said Bharat Kapadia, chairman of India Unites for the Taj. Votes can be cast at TAJ 4567 via cell phones.
