Diwali Releases

This Diwali offers a seven-film bonanza for Tamil movie buffs in which seven actors will shine on screen on Nov 9.

Versatile Vikram will return to marquee with his much-awaited "Bheema". He has put on weight for his heavy role in the film and is said to have undergone a bodybuilding course as well. He teams up with vivacious Trisha in the film. The pair hit it off last in the 2003 blockbuster "Samy". Harris Jayaraj has scored the music for the film, directed by M. Linguswamy.

Another popular actor Vijay returns after a gap with "Azhagiya Thamizh Magan". This is the star's 45th film and Bharathan directs it. For the first time Vijay works with Shriya, who shot into limelight after Rajnikanth's "Chandramukhi", as well as with music wizard A.R. Rahman in the big-budget movie.

"Billa", a remake of a 26-year-old Rajnikant film by the same name, will see Ajith playing the main lead along with Nayanthara. Extensively shot in Malaysia, the film is directed by Vishnuvardhan. Yuvan Shankar Raja scores the music.

Suriya and Asin will be the lead pair in "Vel", which has music by Yuvan again. Suriya plays a double role after "Perazhagan" in the film under Hari's direction.

Dhanush and Ramya will team up in director Vetimaran's "Polladhavan". G.V. Prakash Kumar has been roped in to score the music for it. The Remix of "Engeyum Eppothum" from yesteryears Ninaithalae Inikum already rocks the tamil audio chart, the music for this song being scored by famous pop artist B.Jogi of Malaysia.

Actor-politician Sarath Kumar will attempt a comeback with "Varuvan". The film's publicity has been surprisingly muted.

Again, not much has been heard about Jeevan starrer "Machakaran", the seventh of the proposed Diwali releases.
