Vettaikaaran - Movie Review

Hi Buddies,

Back to my blog after a long time. Work pressure / Time constraint reasons for my long absence.

But that does not stop me watching this Vijay's special Vaettaikaran First Day First Show !

First day, First show, it was like watching a Rajinikanth movie ! Knowing very well I could not hear single dialogue of vijay on first day, I have booked once again for 24th December for second time viewing!

I generally hear what people talk about while they come out after watching the movie. None of them were disappointed or grumbling. That is the first success of this movie.

To start with the one line story, this movie reminds me a mixture of Baasha, Sivaji & all yester year action films of vijay. The only new thing is its treatment. That is where the success lies. I should say vijay has succeeded this time. With no big punch dialogues every now and then, he has underplayed his character subtly. Vijay looks extremely stylish and sporting some stylish new look in "oru chinna thaamarai song" Vijay excels in stunt scenes. So the story of this movie is only Vijay :-)

The second hero is undoubtedly, Music Director Vijay Antony. All the songs are mass hits & atleast each person have one song from this movie as ring tones. I liked all the songs of this movie both visually as well as in audio. All the songs are picturised well. "En uchi mandai" looks good visually. My favourite song is "Oru chinna thaamarai". My ipod touch shows that i had heard this song more than 150 times. Such a lovely number sung beautifully by krish & suchithra. Well tuned by Vijay Antony.

Next Anuksha. She is looking beautiful. I felt somehow the chemistry between vijay & anuksha is missing. she dances well in all the songs she has featured. character wise nothing much to act.

Villain Vedha Nayagam - my favourite yester year super villain - Salim Ghouse. Tamil Industry has wasted this guy'z villain talent and I appreciate Vijay for bringing him once again to the forefront. I am a big fan of this Guy. I remember Me and my friend watched the kamal starrer "Vetri Vizha" 10 times in 10 different theatres only for this villain Salim Ghouse. He has a different kind of voice which looks so powerful. Especially his mannerism. Villainism is not about shouting and fighting to the core. This guy on the look of his eyes brings terror in you and that is what villain is all about. I liked his character etched in this film and he has played ruthlessly as villain.

Good music, good photography, good stunt scenes, good publicity by sun pictures. So this film has all feel "good" factors.

Watch this movie only for Vijay, his style, his dance & for his stunt actions. Start your vaettai now !

My punch Line: Vaettaikaaran - Vetrikaaran !

Rating : * * * out of * * * * *
