Rettai suzhi - Movie Review

Hi Buddies,

I am back from my hibernation. Work, work & work. Sorry for not updating my blog for quiet some time now. Will try to spend some time from now on.

Well after a workaholic period, I thought I should watch a movie of different kind and chose this movie - Rettai suzhi.

The movie started rather slowly. I could find Thamira the Director of this film, who has worked with K.Balachandar for 8 years is struggling to move his characters around in the fast half. Literally I should say he went blank as to how to take this movie to the second half.

Two big fellas fight. Why they fight and how they come together at the end is the one line story of this film.

The first half has Bharathiraja & Balachandar, the two Big "B"s in this film keep fighting for some petty issues. The The issues are not serious enough or I should say interesting enough to watch and that is where you get the tendency to go for a nap. Somehow I was waiting when my time would come to buy Popcorn.

After having some fresh popcorn & coke, I saved all my energy to watch the second half of the movie. Director Thamira I should say tried to create another "Pasanga" with lot of melodrama involving "pasanga" in the second half. That is where things are "lively" and pleasant to watch all the gimmicks these kids do in the second half. I liked the character played by a kid named "kushbu" and the sarcasim showered on actor kushbhu using this character which is fantastic & fun frolic.

The younger character of Bharathi Raja is well sketched and played neatly by the new comer. This portion reminds lot of bharathi raja's films.

Anjali of Angadi Theru plays her character neatly and the hero fits into his role very well.

Music director karthik raja excels in "poochaandi kannazhagi song". This song is played at the end of the song and no body wants to leave the theatre and thats the success of this song.

In some film they will advertise dont miss the "starting" 15 minutes of the film.

For this film they should advertise dont miss the "ending" 15 minutes of the film. That is where the director scores and the two big B's perform at their supreme best literally making you to cry.

Manobala lends support to K.Balachandar's character with his usual wits.

Go watch it. If you have patience, you will love this movie whole of second half.

Well done Director Thamira. Good opening I should say.
