A look at Kannada Music

I did mention in my profile that I listen to all kinds of music and music has no language barriers.

Being a South Indian, I have been listening to tamil, telugu and malayalam movie songs but I was not that much keen on listening to kannada songs. To my limited knowledge on kannada music, I know only Hamsalekha is the leading music director in kannada.

I thought I should extend my music listening to kannada songs as well which made me to buy few Audio CDs in Kannada. To mention few,

(1) Geliya
(2) Satyavan Savithri
(3) Mungaru Male

I knew Munugaru Male is all time hit in Kannada and I had no clue about other movies.

First I chose
Mungaru Male

as it has created some records in kannada industry. Music is by Mano Murthy.

When I saw the singers name it was all biggies of Bollywood, shreya ghoshal, sonu nigam, udit narayanan and kunal kanjanwala.

Few songs did stole the heart and soul and the best was "Anisuthide" sung by Sonu nigam which has excellently tuned and beautifully sung by Sonu Nigam.

I would give 3 out 5 for Mungaru Male. Overall it is entertaining. Good work by Mano Murthy.

The second one I chose was
Geliya.

Music once again by Mano Murthy.

After listening to his two movies, I feel this bald headed guy has good potential to give popular hits.

I thought folk (kuthu) song is popular only in tamil nadu and this film carried one kuthu song from the ever green kuthu specialist "shankar mahadevan". "Chaangu Bala Chaangurae" is in my all time favourit list now.

"Kanasalle Mathaduve" is another excellent melody number sung by Shreya Ghoshal. Being Shreya ghoshal's fan, it was a blessing that I had an opportunity to listen to this kannada number of shreya ghoshal.

There are other few good numbers from this film.

I would give 3 out of 5 again for this film.

The third one I chose was
Sathyavan Savithri

Music by Gurukiran. There were only three songs.

"Hello Boys" sung by Apoorva and Gurukiran is a good dancing number which immediately attracted me.

After listening to the above kannada films, I think I should extend my olive branch of listening to Kannada Movie songs as well.

Kannada music is also rocking - A remarkable improvement indeed !
