Sathyam - A preview

GK Film Corporation's new venture "Sathyam", featuring Vishal and Nayanthara was launched at a function in Hyderabad on Independence Day. Simultaneously the film will be made in Telugu also and it is titled "Salute".

GK Film Corporation, which is the family company of Vishal, has earlier produced "Sandakozhi", "Thimiru" and "Tambaraparani", all Vishal hits. They were all dubbed in Telugu. Vishal says the response he has received for his films dubbed in Telugu has encouraged him to make a bilingual, "Sathyam" in Tamil and "Salute" in Telugu.

Kannada actor Upendra plays an important role in this film. Kotta Srinivasarao, Brahmanandam, Premji and 'Sarkar' Ravikaleth (Hindi villain) are also in the cast.Rajasekhar, who directs the film, has written the story, screenplay and dialogue. He has worked as an assistant director with Suresh Krishna for ten films, starting with "Alavandan". He has worked on the story for over one year. He is optimistic that the new venture would turn out to be a big success for producer.

G.K. Reddy, Vikram Krishna and Vishal. Nayanthara and other artistes who participated in the function were presented with the Indian tricolor.R.D. Rajasekhar is the cinematographer while Haris Jayaraj is the music director.

Almost 90 per cent of the film will be shot in Hyderabad. "Sathyam" is a story about the police. Vishal plays the role of a dedicated and honest crime branch police officer. Though it is a police story, the film will be devoid of blood and gore, it is said.
