First thing First.
The Audio CD of Vettaikaran is released only today. I am lucky enough to lay my hands on this CD on the very first day of its release. Vijay & Vijay Antony join together for the first time. The Album has 6 tracks with one being repeated.
1. Puli urumuthu
Singer: Ananthav & Mahesh Vinayakam
Lyrix by : Kabilan
Looks like this is the title / opening song of Vijay in the movie. Song opens with typical vijay antony style of syllable words :-) Puli romba urumuthu indha paatla. Must be worth watching visually with Vijay in it. Both Ananthav & Mahesh have sung superbly according to the mood of the song. Good rhythmic beats. Undoubtedly Vijay is going to rock in his impeccable style. I have added this extra line after 5 days of continous hearing of this song. A lovely number with good orchestration. Vijay Antony is bang on and right there for a typical vijay's commercial song. Awesum number and this has altered my rating of songs which I had given below:
2. Chinna Thamarai
Singer: Krish & Suchithra
Lyrix: Viveka
The opening of this song is well tuned. This song has English & Tamil rap lyrics. Suchithra is lucky enough to get this type of hit song to her kitty. Lovely fast melody beats. Krish is good choice for this song. He sings beautifully the words "Oru Chinna Thamarai". Another potential superhit number which is going to hit the FM channels in a big way.
3. Naan adicha
Singer: Shankar Mahadevan
Lyrix: Kabilan
Another folk number sung by folk specialist Shankar Mahadevan, my favourite kuththu specialist. Shankar Mahadevan paadinaalae "naan thoonga maataen" :-) That salsa & jalsa portion sung by chorus is good to listen. A fast paced melody kuththu number :-) Few more vijay antony'z new syllabals "seena kumija" :-) for this song. Ezhunthu aadanum pola irukku at this place. Song is entertaining & gives a lovely feel to listen this fast paced folk / kuththu number.
4. Karikaalan
Singer: Surchth & Sangeetha Rajeswaran
Lyrix: Kabilan
Sangeetha Rajeswaran vijay antony's favourite is back in this song. I was wondering how come vijay antony has not sung this song :-) This song is his type of song. Semma kuththu paaa ! Another potential superhit number like "bannaras pattu katti" song from ninaithale inikkum. Good one vijay antony ! Kabilan has written beautiful rhythmic words to suit the mood of this song. With vijay & anuksha, Song is going to be a visual treat.

6. Uchi mandai
Singers: Krishna Iyer, Shoba Sekhar, Charulathamani & Shakthi Sree

I am surprised how come vijay antony has not sung this song as well. Krishna Iyer voice looks similar to vijay antony. Opening of pallavi with miyav miyav poona is too good to listen ! Vijays mother voice stands out and she has sung superbly. Naalu paerum roundu katti oru superhit kuththu song paadi irukaanga !
Overall, Vijay & Vijay Antonys new "Vetri"combination is going to work well for this movie. Vijay Antony has done a decent job for this big budget movie scheduled for Diwali. Worth listening all the songs definitely. Vijay Antonyz tunes for this movie would be more popular once the movie releases !
